There is a good library and reading room. The number of books in the library is regularly enhanced by adding books of high value and literary content. In addition to that the students an up-to-date knowledge of current affairs.
To inculcate reading habits in students we have stacked the school library with variety of books, periodicals and dailies. Around 9000 books in the library are arranged and cataloged as fictions, general knowledge, classical literature, science and technology, arts and culture, motivational and self help books. Periodicals like Outlook, India Today, The Week, The Time and dailies both in English and Malayalam are made available to the students. One book per week is issued to the students and they have one library period each week. The class teachers ensure that the book has been read by asking the students to write review of the book issued.
Library Rules
- The library will be kept open from 9.30am to 4.30 pm on all working days.
- All the students of standards V to XII may borrow books from the school library.
- Books selected by the students will be issued only after being initialled by the librarian.
- Damage in the form of scribbling / tearing pages/ marking upon any book is an offence and the book has to be replaced by the concerned student.
- Books may be kept for one week and must be returned by the due date on the date slip. If needed be, renewal for second week may be granted.
- Students who keep books longer than the time permitted will have to pay a fine of Rs. 5/- per week.
- Books in the reference section should not be taken out from the library.
- The books that are found to be damaged should be brought to the attention of the librarian.
- All books borrowed from the library should be returned one week before the terminal examination.
- Strict silence should be observed in and around the library.
