St. Anne’s E.M. High School, Vellamunda is an educational institution managed by Malabar Social Service Society, a registered society headed by Arch Bishop Mar Mathew Moolakkattu – the Patron, Mar Joseph Pandarasseril – The President.
The very idea of starting St. Anne’s English Medium School, Vellamunda was first rooted in the mind of a great humanitarian, Arch Bishop Mar Kuriakose Kunnassery-the first Arch Bishop of the Kottayam Diocese in 2003. It has got its concrete shape with the collaboration of Archbishop Mar Mathew Moolakkattu and Mar Joseph Pandarasseril.
The aim of this school is a ‘Feel Free’ system of education which is liberal and comprehensive to both boys and girls. It intends to draw about the innate capabilities and talents of the children and develop them to as to bring them to a standard worthy of our intellectual, physical and spiritual heritage. The school promotes not only intellectual, cultural and physical developments but also the formation of character by inculcating moral principles so that they grow up as good children of god and responsible citizens of the country.
St. Anne’s E. M. School is now in its 10th year of existence since the humble inception in 2003 when His Excellency Mar. Mathew Moolakkatt blessed and inaugurated the school. Rev. Fr. Jose Kadavilchirayil, Rev. Fr. Saji Pinarkayil,were served as administrators and Rev. Sr. Greeta SVM, Rev. Fr. Philip Mudakalil and Rev. Sr. Sibiya SJC are the former principal of this school. From a humble beginning St. Anne’s has now become a temple of learning of 950 students. There are 40 teaching staff and 19 non-teaching staff in the school. At Present Rev. Fr. Winson Pulivelil and Rev. Fr. Saji Puthenpurackal serve the school as principal and administrator respectively.
