YOGA DAY & READING DAY CELEBRATION 2024

 

On 21st June 2024

Reading day is observed annually on  19th June in honour of P.N Panicker,  the father of the Library Movement in Kerala. P.N Panicker played a crucial role in promoting literacy and the library movement in the state. The observance of Reading Day serves to  commemorate his contributions and encourage the habit of reading among  people, particularly the youth.
            International Yoga Day is celebrated annually on 21st June. The Day encourages individuals and communities around the world to engage in Yoga and mindfulness practices, promoting physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
            Sreepuram celebrated Reading Week and International Yoga Day on 21st June 2024. The function was inaugurated by the School Manager, Rev. Fr. Joy Kattiyankal. In his inaugural speech, he honoured a few of our Sreepurites with a book to encourage reading and exhorted all to inculcate a love for reading. The School Principal, Rev. Sr. Ayona Simon S.V.M gave a passionate speech about the significance of Reading Week and International Yoga Day. A skit was performed by students based on reading habits and authors. Also, speeches were presented by students on the same topic. A Reading Corner was inaugurated on the same day, with a view to promote reading habits among students. A Yoga session was conducted by experienced Yoga practitioners and participated by students. Certain Asanas, breathing exercises and meditation were performed.
        It was an amazing experience for all students and teachers.
